Can you remember how many objects or surfaces you have touched today?

My guess is- you don’t know.

This is because your hand is one of the most active parts of your body, so consciously and unconsciously, in a day, your hands have touched an average of 14 objects excluding structural fittings such as taps, handles and light switches according to research by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). While we can take precautionary measures against contracting COVID-19 and other airborne viruses by wearing facemask, regular handwashing, or by social distancing, it is almost impossible to avoid contracting virus when it is on surfaces.

Needless to say that a clean hand guarantees good health. Therefore, you need to know the importance of using a hand sanitizing wipes.

You might know that germs spread fast, but you probably do not know the speed at which it spread, especially when one sneezes or coughs; it will surprise you.

A study carried out by some researchers at the University of Bristol showed that the average sneeze or cough can send around 100,000 contagious germs into the air at a speed up to 100 miles per hour. It does not just stop at that, the droplets from the sneeze and cough stay on the hand and objects.

To prevent the spread of germs, you can blow your nose into a sheet of hand sanitizing wipe and use another sheet to clean your hands before touching other people, objects or surfaces. The sanitizing wipes make it easy to clean off all the respiratory droplets on your hands while simultaneously disinfecting them.

The hand plays a critical role in transferring micro-organisms via frequent contact with contaminated environmental surfaces. This is why World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends proper handwashing as an important hand hygiene exercise. According to the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), effective handwashing comprises five simple steps; wet, lather, scrub, rinse and dry. This preventive measure would have been very effective only that dirt is everywhere but soap and water is not.

Your hands are only clean until the next surface you touch. All it takes is touching a currency note after washing your hands, and it get dirty again. This is the reason CDC has given the directive to use alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water is not readily available. Thus, hand sanitizing wipes are a great on-the-go option for removing dirt, grease and other particles from your hands and surfaces until you have access to soap and water.

Knowing the right amount of liquid hand sanitizer to use on your hand can be difficult, especially because not everybody is an industrial chemist. While attempting to use the liquid sanitizer, it also runs the risk of spilling out of its container and leaking. However, choosing a hand sanitizing wipes make it easier to know the right quantity to use. A sheet is saturated with the right amount of alcohol and moisture content you need to thoroughly coat every part of your hand per time. In one wipe, you can effectively sanitize and moisturize your hand on the go.
