LATE PASTOR ADEMOLA ODUNAIYA
(1940 – 2023)
Founder
Pastor Ademola Odunaiya was a visionary industrialist and the co-founder of Wemy Industries, which he established alongside his wife in 1978. A graduate of the University of Liverpool, UK, he held a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree and was a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
With a career spanning several decades, Pastor Odunaiya was widely respected for his astute leadership and pioneering contributions to Nigeria’s manufacturing and financial sectors. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Access Bank Plc for eight years, retiring voluntarily in November 2003. He also chaired IFECO Limited, a family-owned manufacturing company, and Daltrade Nigeria Limited, a joint venture with the Polish government.
Affectionately known as “Baba,” he remained actively involved in strategic decision-making at Wemy Industries well into his later years, even as he passed on the day-to-day operations to a new generation of leaders. Pastor Ademola Odunaiya’s legacy lives on in the thriving institutions he helped build and the many lives he impacted through his integrity, leadership, and enduring faith.
PAUL ODUNAIYA
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Paul Adedoyin Odunaiya, a seasoned accountant with strong business acumen who sits as the current Managing Director of Wemy Industries Limited; producers of Nigeria’s pioneer brand of diapers and wipes popularly known as Dr.Brown’s and Nightingale Products.
Upon assuming this position, he has taken the business from 1st generation to 2nd generation success here by increasing the annual turnover four times more than its estimated expansion rate.
Prior to his return to Nigeria, Paul had spent most of his working life in the UK managing businesses in different sectors such as Insolvency Management, Information Technology, Marketing and Energy brokerage.
Now, he brings to bear his passion for the business and the desire for the growth of local manufacturing as a tool for developmental change in his home country, Nigeria and Africa.
He is a graduate of Computer Science and Accounting and also holds a professional Accounting Certificate with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
OBATUNDE ODUNAIYA
PROCUREMENT & OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Obatunde (Oba) Odunaiya has been Procurement & Operations Director in Wemy Industries Limited since 2009. He has over 12 years’ experience of consumer products, product development, international procurement, operations and manufacturing.
Prior to joining WEMY, he had experience in back office operations with an investment banking firm in the United States.Oba has management oversight and leadership adroitness for the procurement of raw materials and machineries, manufacturing, sales and distribution of Wemy’s baby care, feminine care and adult care product lines.
His focus on business dynamism and efficiency is one of his stand-out traits and arguably one major factor behind the changes in the company’s turnover since joining the company in 2009.
He holds an MBA from the University of Bridgeport, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University, and an Executive Certificate in Technology, Operations and Value Chain Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
ADEOLA OYEYIPO
DIRECTOR OF SALES
Adeola is a sales engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, he discovered his passion for sales early in life and decided to build a career in sales growing through the ranks in Wemy Industries from a Sales Personnel to his current position as Director of Sales.
He is now a highly successful marketing professional with 20 years’ experience committed to identifying, developing and implementing new approaches and strategies to stimulate sales and increase market share.
Adeola is also a fellow of the Institute of Brand Management Nigeria. He remains ambitious with a strong determination to succeed and also boasts of a proven track record of working within a target driven environment and of achieving sales targets consistently.
