Sanitary Manufacturing Company Offers Free Screening to Women on World Cancer Day

As part of the celebration of World Cancer Day in February 2016, Indigenous manufacturing company Wemy Industries Limited, in partnership with Optimal Cancer Care Foundation Lagos, offered free cervical and breast cancer screening and products for women.

Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care, Dr Femi Olaleye, reiterated that this year’s global theme “We Can I Can” could be used for greater impact, and was delighted that Wemy Industries is playing its part as a socially responsible organization.

According to Paul Odunaiya, MD Wemy Industries, “We have always remained an integral part of a women’s sanitary needs so joining forces with a reputable foundation that has achieved a lot in enlightening women about the need for cancer screening  is important to us.”

Wemy Industries Limited is an indigenous manufacturer of sanitary products in Nigeria under the brand names Dr Brown’s and Nightingale.  They began the production of baby diapers in Nigeria in 1981 but have now expanded into the Baby Care, Feminine Care and Adult care categories respectively with products such as; Dr Brown’s Baby Diaper, Wipes, Ultra Thin Sanitary Pads, pantyliners, Towel Underlay and Adult Diapers.
